Governor's School for the Arts (GSA)

GSA is a tuition-free residential summer program for passionate and talented young artists from across the Commonwealth.  GSA Alumni receive access to scholarships at nearly 30 colleges/universities, as well as life-long mentorships and a transformative summer experience.

Current high school sophomores and juniors are invited to apply for our 2021 summer program in one of GSA's nine artforms:

Architecture & Design              Drama                                  Musical Theatre
Creative Writing                       Film & Photography              Visual Art
    Dance                                      Instrumental Music                Vocal Music

The application for GSA 2021 opens in early November and is due January 10.  As many schools are familiar with the application process for our sister program, the Governor's Scholars Program (GSP), it is worth notig that the GSA application process is very different from GSP's.  There is no school nomination process of GSA applicants; rather, students complete an online application for GSA that includes recommendation forms completed by school administrators and teachers.

Please visit www.kentuckygsa.org to learn more about eh application process, including dates for a series of virtual info sessions GSA is hosting throughout the fall.  Questions can be directed to gsainfo@kentuckyperformingarts.org, or directly to Nick Covault at 502.566.5218 or ncovault@kentuckyperformingarts.org.
