Summer School Opportunity

Report cards are being mailed on Tuesday, May 28. 

Any student who failed a core class (Fall or Spring) has the opportunity to attend Summer School to retake the class. The failing grade will average with the summer school grade and will replace the F on your transcript.  

Summer School Information

Date: Monday, June 3rd - Friday, June 21st

Time: 8:00 am to 12:00 pm

Location: Marshall County Technical Center

Lunch: Provided each day

Attendance: Cannot miss a full day of Summer School

ACT Prep Workshops
for July ACT & End of Summer

The Workshop:  The 16-hour workshop is open to all students from all schools in the area. Students will not only review the subject matter, but will also learn ACT-specific test-taking strategies.  The instructors will teach the different types of questions the ACT uses, methods for handling difficult questions, and tips for dealing with tight time limits. 

Workshop Instructors:      

Shawn Baldwin, B.S., M.A. will teach the Math and Science sessions

•  Former teacher at Graves County Middle School

•  Math tutor 11 years

•  Scored 35 on ACT, including 36 on both Math and Science sections

•  Kelly King Walden, M.A. in English, will teach the English and Reading sessions

•  ACT tutor for 13 years

•  Former English teacher at University of Alabama and WKCTC

Locations for July ACT session: Reidland Church of Christ and Lowes Elementary

June 26-27 at Reidland Church of Christ in Paducah

July 10-11 at Lowes Elementary in Graves Co.

Both locations run from 10:00-3:00 each day with a one hour break for lunch.

Location for End of Summer ACT session: To be determined

July 23-26: Tuesday through Friday - 10:00-3:00 each day
Lunch Break from 12:00 - 1:00

Cost: $300 for each session. Participants must bring a calculator for math sessions.

Scholarships are available by counselor referral.

Important AP Exam Information

AP exams will begin Monday, May 6.  Registered students have been notified and given a handout concerning when and where to report for their exams.  AM exams begin at 7:45 a.m. and PM exams begin at 11:45 a.m. Students taking an afternoon exam will need to eat 1st lunch.  The schedule below is sorted alphabetically by exam.  Please see or email Mrs. Burnham with any questions!
