What can I do to be more prepared for the PSAT?

National Merit Scholarship CorporationThis scholarship competition awards approximately 8,200 scholarships annually. The selection process starts with the choosing of National Merit Scholarship Semi-Finalists and Commended Scholars. Cutoffs vary from state to state but typically Semi-Finalists score in the top one percent of students in their state and Commended Scholars between the top one to four percent. Most of the approximately 16,000 Semi-Finalists become Finalists, and half of those ultimately receive National Merit Scholarships.

Welcome!!!

MCHS Class of 2022

Welcome to your sophomore year at Marshall County High School!  As a sophomore, you have a year of high school behind you.

If you think college is in your future, start thinking about how much that will cost. Remember, when we say “college” that means any training after high school, including technical or beauty school, as well as a two- or four-year college program.

The sophomore year can be quite difficult, so make sure you do your assignments, study for exams and ask your teachers for help when you don’t understand something.
