Announcement to students registered for an AP exam!

Hello AP examinees and parents!  CollegeBoard has released new information detailing the 2020 AP Exam day experience! I hope this post will help you organize the resources you need to view within the next few days.  I can not stress enough how important the 2020 Testing Guide is. There’s so much instruction to the student that I couldn’t possibly hit the highlights and cover everything.  It’s a very well put together document.

  1. The 2020 AP Testing Guide has been released!  Here it is for your review: 2020 AP Testing Guide It contains all things related to your upcoming AP exam.  Pay special attention to information in this guide about:
  • Your AP Exam e-ticket (you will receive this two days before each exam by email AND in your MyAP account. There is a button to click on the ticket.  You will need to click it 30 minutes before your exam – look at this section!)
  • 5 steps to take before test day (look what they’ve listed in this section about what to do if you’re not receiving CollegeBoard emails)
  • Understanding the test day experience
  • Exam scores, credit, and placement (pay attention to this section – the deadline is June 20 for you to use your free score send – do this in MyAP. Pay close attention to the managing your time section so you can see how it will work and how to submit. Scores will be released on or around July 15 to students.)

  1. 2020 AP Exam Day Checklist is now available!  You should take a look at it and complete this checklist for each exam you take and keep it with you while testing.

  1. Explainer Videos: New videos are available to give students quick and easily accessible information about your test day experience, what to do to prepare, and more!

  1. On May 4 CollegeBoard will release the AP Exam Demo. Students should utilize this tool to practice the different ways to submit your exam responses. The demo will help students confirm that your testing device will access and run the online exam.  This is an important preparation step!

  1. Unless there’s a significant conflict, students should test in May.  Here’s the schedule:

YOU ARE A RESILIENT PROBLEM SOLVER!  AP teachers will have the chance to review your score and your exam responses this summer. If you don't receive a score of 3 or higher and your teacher is convinced you should have, your teacher will be able to engage with the AP Program's college faculty partners to review and confirm your score, ensuring it's fair and appropriate.

Let me know if you have any questions!!
